Ashley Humphrey joins Coalescion as a Senior Project Lead bringing a wealth of experience spanning the biological sciences, nuclear nonproliferation, and national/international security. Ashley comes to us from Y-12 National Security Complex where she started as a Projects Management Organization administrative project support, later leading to a role as the University Partnerships Program Manager where she helped to build career pipeline programs with universities through fellowship opportunities and collaborations. In both roles, Ashley contributed to building Y-12 technological capabilities and to the development of a modernized and sustainable workforce. Prior to that, Ashley spent two years at Oak Ridge National Laboratory as an International Security & Policy Analyst in the Nuclear Nonproliferation Division. There she supported NNSA’s Office of Defense Nuclear Nonproliferation (NA-20) under the Global Material Security, International Nuclear Security (INS) mission space. Ashley was the INS Deputy Laboratory Lead for the France portfolio and supported initiatives in the United Kingdom, Israel, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, and the African region-- these opportunities sparked her passion for international relations and partnerships.

In addition to her professional work, Ashley has been actively involved with the University of Tennessee’s International Journal of Nuclear Security since 2019. Starting as a volunteer associate editor, she later became the managing volunteer editor for their inaugural special issue on women in nuclear security.

Ashley graduated from the University of Tennessee in 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in English for Technical Communication with a minor in biology. She holds a certificate as a Certified Nuclear Security Professional (CNSP) with two more specified concentration certificates in Communication and Nuclear Security Program Management from the World Institute for Nuclear Security Academy (WINS), in Vienna.

Ashley lives with her husband (Ryan) and children (Donovan and Lilly) in Tennessee and spends non-work time meandering in antique stores, engaging in local community activities, and enjoying Tennessee sports with her family.
