Dr. Eric K. Howell, in his capacity as a Senior Program Manager and Business Development Lead for Coalescion, applies his nearly 20 years of experience in the facilitation of international program design and implementation. In his time as a staff of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Key Expert for the European Commission, and partner to an expansive network of consulting organizations, he has led coordination, management, and provision of technical expertise in international programs relating to the field of nuclear safety and security as well as CBRN nonproliferation.

 

His PhD in Radiation Toxicology and specialization in Strategic Studies add both a technical and policy/strategy element to his experience with design, organization, implementation, and maintenance of successful international programs.

In addition to his inter-departmental coordination of over 60 international projects at the IAEA, Dr. Howell has been a subject matter expert and/or team leader for more than 100 projects in roughly 80 countries for various international organizations and national government agencies (e.g., European Commission, the Swedish International Development Agency, the Swedish Nuclear Regulatory Agency, the Norwegian Nuclear Regulatory Authority, Norwegian Decommissioning and Radioactive Waste Management operator, United States Departments of State, Energy, and Defense). In this capacity, he has assembled and managed teams of experts as well as successfully delivered complex projects dealing with strategic and technical challenges related to nuclear safety, security, and non-proliferation.

Dr. Howell served as an adjunct professor at Texas Tech University, developing and delivering learning materials to students in various disciplines.

He is an avid entrepreneur, owning businesses in consulting, real estate, and investment syndication. He lives in Texas with his wife and children but prefers worldwide adventures with them to learn about and experience Earth’s unique cultures and culinary treats.
